How do I get spiderman 3 to work on my laptop?

I have a serious problem. I always wanted spiderman 3 on the PC and now that I have the game and installed it onto my computer it doesn't work, I've looked at the requirements checked them, got them theres certainly NOTHING wrong with my laptop. when I installed the game and tried to play it, a big black box apeared in the upper left hand corner for about five seconds then it disappears. My cousin says that it won't work on the laptop because laptops aren't built for games. But if that was the case then why did they invent games for both the laptop and the PC. Now i'm not sure what to think does spiderman 3 only work on the PC or does it work on both? is my cousin right? should I trade the game back in? if you've got any suggestions then please, please tell me. Check specifically that the video in your laptop is compatible with spiderman 3. It has to match or exceed the requirements... nearly isn't good enough.



If that's the case... buy a desktop that meets the specs or buy a laptop that meets the specs.



Your cousin is largely right. Laptops (apart from a few freaky ones that are basically desktops in a small box like clevo and alienware ones) are not built as games machines. You're cousin is absolutely wrong. Games are not based on whether the computer is laptop or desktop, they're based on system requirements just like every other application you can install. Usually laptops don't meet high standards compared to desktops which could have lead your cousin to believe that. But my laptop is the best you could buy on the market right now. It plays games great. You may have a problem with your resolution, try setting your resolution to something none-widescreen, then in-game change the games resolution to whatever you keep your resolution at. Stop the game, reset your resolution and try running the game again. If that doesn't help then try reinstalling the game. You could also download the latest Spirderman 3 patch and install it. If it does not work re-install the game.
